Annie Walters

I created and started my business in 2016 after becoming a professional immediately after I turned 18 in 2013.

I specialize in bringing along young horses and developing people into horsemen as well as riders. Creating good future horsemen is my top priority because knowing about horses and understanding them is the foundation to becoming a successful rider.

I believe horses should still be allowed to be horses and enjoy life outside of just performing for us. Allowing horses to live as naturally as possible—ample turnout with friends, if possible—keeps them happy and healthy, which in turn allows them to perform better.

We bought the land here in Huger, South Carolina, around 10 years ago, and I started building the barn in 2016. We cleared the land ourselves, which was scrub forest prior to becoming an equestrian facility. My whole family has put in time toward building the facility, including the barn, fencing and other outbuildings. My dad and his business, Beach Construction Company, has built everything on the land, and AMW Stables has funded everything with the exception of the house.

I’m proud to have brought along many successful horses and riders through my career thus far, including USHJA International Hunter Derby and Green Incentive winners, pony, children’s, adult and green hunter champions as well as equitation winners.
