Aiken Spring Classic Masters

Annie Walters and Kingstown

AMW Stables had the best time at the Aiken Spring Classic Masters at Highfields on April 20-23. We had beautiful weather, great riding and perfect horses. After a successful winter training and showing, we had several combinations move up a level with great results.

McClaine Cobb and HTS Mile High Club moved up to the Children's Hunters for the first time and nailed it in the 14 and under section! They had some super rounds, earning her two thirds over fences and third under saddle in addition to other ribbons. They also placed third in the NAL/WIHS Children’s Hunter. Classic to round out their debut show at 3 feet.

Hadley Rodwell and Angelica moved up to the Small Ponies and earned the championship! They won two of the four jumping classes. The pair also jumped to sixth in the combined Pony Hunter Classic.

Sarasen Jablon and Crocodile Rock won the Large Pony Handy trip and had other great ribbons in a competitive section, which resulted in the reserve champion. They were also fourth in the Pony Hunter Classic. Sarasen and Kingstown won three of the five Low Children’s Hunter classes giving them the championship out of a big, competitive field of 16.

Kingstown and trainer Annie Walters made their USHJA International Hunter Derby debut together, and it went amazing with second place overall. “This was so fun! I’m so proud of Sarasen Jablon's Kingstown for jumping around his first international derby like the king that he is!” said Annie. “He always tries so hard, and I feel extremely lucky for the opportunity to pilot him around. He was also reserve champion in the 3'6” Greens and won the 3'6” USHJA Green Incentive stake.”
