Blowing Rock Rocks for AMW Stables

Rehling de Roos and Crypto Crusader

The two weeks of the annual Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show in Blowing Rock, North Carolina is always a summer highlight. And this year, the 100th anniversary, was no exception. The AMW Stables team enjoyed great performances, ribbons and an escape from the hot and humid summer in the Low Country from July 25-August 6.

Kingstown and Sarasen Jablon stepped up to the 3' Children's Hunters for the first time and jumped to an 84.5 in the Classic round along with other great scores and ribbons. Sarasen and her Crocodile Rock were second in a super competitive USEF Pony Medal class and third in the WIHS Pony Medal. They also had excellent performances in the Large Pony Hunters for some well-earned ribbons.

Hadley Rodwell and Angelica

Not to be outdone, Christine Jablon followed Sarasen’s lead and jumped to some scores in the 80s in the middle Adult Amateur section aboard Winston. The pair took home some great ribbons among a tough field of competitors.

Hadley Rodwell and Angelica prepared for their debut in the USEF Pony Finals the following week with some top ribbons in a very competitive Small Pony Hunter division.

Catherine Clark and Owen with CRF Caramellow

Trainer Annie Walters and Cassius Del Caribe Z continued to turn heads in the 3'3” Green Hunters. They earned impressive scores in the 80s among top company. “Cash” also made his debut with an Adult Amateur in the irons and helped Ava Svatos take home some lovely rosettes after her catch rides.

The AMW Stables team is particularly proud of our Short and Long Stirrup riders! Catherine Clark won a Long Stirrup over fences class aboard CRF Caramellow, and Rehling de Roos and her Crypto Crusader captured the reserve championship in the Long Stirrup Hunters during Week 1. Caroline Oliverio made her debut aboard new pony Motown and was the Long Stirrup Hunter champion and the Long Stirrup Equitation reserve champion. The pair earned three firsts, two seconds and a fourth on their way to the tricolors.

HTS Mile High Club and McClaine Cobb joined us for the second week and earned ribbons in the Children’s Hunters as well as in the 3’ medal classes. And Esme Melchior brought Fernando ES Z for the week and took home some impressive ribbons in the Low Children’s/Adult Jumpers out of a large group.
