Triumphs at Tryon

Annie Walters and Cassius Del Caribe Z

The Tryon Summer 5 Horse Show in Mill Spring, North Carolina featured the $10,000 USHJA Open Hunter Derby Regional Championships, and it was well worth the trip for AMW Stables. With trainer/rider Annie Walters aboard, Hardie Horses LLC’s Cassius Del Caribe Z placed third overall and Sarasen Jablon’s Kingstown was sixth overall.

“Cash” scored an 89 in the Classic Round and returned for an 81 in the Handy Round with beautiful jumping. It was an impressive performance for the youngster who only recently moved up to the 3’3” Green Hunters. “King” jumped to an 85 in the Classic Round and kept his consistency in the Handy with an 80. Both horses were fantastic over the beautiful courses on the lovely grass field at the Tryon International Equestrian Center.

Annie Walters and Kingstown

With Sarasen in the irons, King also won a Low Children’s Hunter class out of 41 entries and earned other top ribbons in the 12-14 equitation as well as the 2’9” USHJA Hunters.

Lulu Hardie and Quintender continued to earn ribbons as newcomers to the 3’3” Junior Hunters. They had a victory in the Handy class and scored a second over fences on the second day for a great finish.

Sarasen and Crocodile Rock earned excellent ribbons in the Large Ponies, with a super round that took third in the Handy. Sarasen also won the WIHS Pony Medal with a score of 85!

Catherine Clark with CRF Caramellow and Grace Beall and Straight Shooter enjoyed their time in the Long Stirrup Hunters. Both earned ribbons in every class, with Catherine and “Cam” winning an over fences class with a stellar round!
