Kingstown Crowned at March Madness I

Sarasen Jablon with Kingstown and Annie Walters

AMW Stables had a fantastic show during Week I of the March Madness series at Highfields in Aiken! The weather was beautiful, the horses couldn't have jumped better and all the girls got lots of noise from the in-gate after their rounds.

The week started out strongly, with Friday night featuring the USHJA National Hunter Derby. Sarasen Jablon's Kingstown won with a 90 in the Classic Round and an 88 in the Handy. Hardie Horses LLC’s Cassius Del Caribe Z was super impressive in his second derby, placing third with scores of 85 and 85. “Cash” went on to earn the Combined Green Hunter reserve championship, competing against much more seasoned horses. As icing on the cake, he also won the USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Stake and a nice paycheck.

McClaine Cobb and HTS Mile High Club

Sarasen took the reins over the weekend aboard “King” and won four out of the five Low Children’s Hunter classes for championship honors. They also topped the Low Children’s/Adult Hunter Challenge with a score of 82. This new pair is coming together perfectly!

McClaine Cobb and HTS Mile High Club continued to improve upon their performances and were second, second and third in the 2’9” USHJA Hunters. They also had great rounds in the Low Children’s Hunters and are ready to move up to the Children’s Hunters at their next show.

Catherine Clark and CRF Caramellow

Lulu Hardie and Greymeadows Charleston added more accolades to their record. They had great rounds in the Large Pony Hunters and finished the week as the reserve champions in the Schooling Pony section.

Catherine Clark and CRF Caramellow placed second, second, third and fourth in the Combined Short/Long Stirrup Hunters with consistently good performances over fences and on the flat.

Special thanks to Ansley Beman for piloting Hadley Rodwell’s Angelica to the Green Pony Hunter reserve championship. The pair won two classes and finished in the top three in the others for their tricolor ribbon.

Sarasen and Crocodile Rock were nearly unbeatable all week in the hunters and equitation. They were champions in the Large/Small Pony and Schooling Pony sections, and Sarasen won the WIHS Pony Equitation and the USEF Pony Medal for an all-around great show.

We’re looking forward to March Madness II next week and continuing the momentum and fun!
